This program is designed for those children whose birthdays are too late for the Dec 1st Kindergarten cutoff, or for those children whose parents have opted to give them an extra year to mature before entering the kindergarten experience.  It will focus on the individual child's intellectual, emotional, and physical growth while strengthening their character and maturity levels.  It is a program that embodies a progressive educational approach in which your child will be encouraged to learn at a level that challenges them but does not overwhelm them with expectations.  It is a theme based comprehensive program designed to explore all the basics of letter recognition and use, math, science, and social science.  Phonetic awareness, sight words, number concepts, cause and effect, and more will be offered.  We will also explore our community and embark on monthly field trips.  Much of what we do will be to explore with hands-on learning and projects because the 5 year old learns more by doing than by hearing.
